A Brighter You

"Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always." - 1 Chronicles 16:11

There are several truths that can be difficult to admit. We would like to think that we have it together and we can get through anything. The truth is we don’t always have it together and without help there are things that can put us under. There are times where we can end up in a place feeling lost. In this place God's voice can seem so distant.  Despite what it feels like just know, he is there with you, giving you the strength to wake up and get out of bed each day. For some of us, it takes courage to face the day. Our struggles are great reminders that we need God and we need people.

These are defining times in our lives. Facing a struggle is where fear can meet courage, and foolishness should lose to wisdom. If we can catch it, with Christ, we can give birth to humility. It's in humility that we will find the help we seek. Humility often takes us to a desperate place where we can look up and say, "Lord, I need your guidance. I need your help." Many times we try to avoid that place because we think giving our hearts to God means that we are giving something up. We could never be more wrong. Surrendering to God is the beginning of your victory. It's the start of a new life. How many of us would deny the change to start over. As a child, I remember using the term "do-over," when playing with my sisters or friends. God is your change to have a "do-over." God's "do-over" does not relinquish you from responsibility of prior action but it does offer forgiveness to your sin and provide you the opportunity to be found and walk into a newer and brighter you. When you come to the end of yourself, if you are willing, that is where you will find Jesus. His arms will be wide open, waiting for you to come in.

If you feel over wrought by your struggle, lost and falling apart at the seems, there is hope for you today. You are in prime position to align yourself with the perfect will of God in your life. Your struggle is your cue. It is your life desperately asking you to put up your hands and give yourself over to God's divine plan for your life. What you will find is the things that we hold onto so desperately, thinking that it is the glue holding everything together is the very thing that is keeping you in your struggle. In the midst of the chaos around you, God is asking you to let go and trust him. You can shine again when you allow yourself to find your joy in the spirit of Jesus Christ. It's going to be ok. He's got you.
