Faith Over Feelings

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." - Hebrews 11:1

If life was truly based on the way we feel, a lot of us would be in trouble. To often, we base our opinion, decisions, and vision on what we feel and see.

When you come into the knowledge of Jesus Christ, you understand that your outcome is not based on what you currently feel and see in the moment. Your outcome is solely based on the word of God. There are not any situations or circumstances that become permanent fixtures in your life. You can change, it can change, according to your faith and belief.

In Mark 9:23, Jesus states, "What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”  Some of us have made bad decisions in our lives. While others have inherited the woeful results of bad decisions made by parents, a spouse, or loved one. Nothing is more important to your break through than what you believe about yourself and the world around you. Regardless of your current struggle, your belief in the power of Christ is your way out. 

When you are led by your feelings chaos ensues. Emotional decisions mostly anchor us in temporal satisfaction or long lasting hurt. Life becomes painful when we live our lives based on the way that we feel. Our feelings sway us from the left to the right but living in faith anchors us in an unshakable belief that God can and he will see us through. 

When you are driven by your feelings, the true purpose in your life begins to be weighed down by our feelings of fear, shame, resentment, sadness, and anger. Living a life based on feelings sequesters  us in the world of It's all About me. Many of us have visited this world countless times. This is a place where nothing else in the world holds a candle to the things going on in our lives. Sadly, this world limits God to the size of our problems, and shortens the pathway God has prepared for our freedom.

In Christ, you have the ability to battle your feelings with His strength. You don't have to be alone or walk alone. The darkest moments in our lives define us based on our reaction. Take resolve within yourself to never settle for living through your emotions. Our greatest models of success live through their faith. Their unmoved belief anchors any doubts or worries that would seek to shake them. No matter how their circumstances looked, how they felt, or what people said, the only thing that mattered is the dream on the inside of them. Allow God to instill a dream of your heart. Fight till the end, and determine that you will never let go until what is in your heart manifests itself before your eyes.
