Yes You & Your Mess Too

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." -John 3:16

There is a gross misunderstanding that following Christ equals perfection. Many times Christians give off this false facade of upright living devoid of flaws, mistakes, and missteps. Guess what? I don't care who you are, what your title, or how long you have been saved everyone has problems - every one is challenge with some sort of issue. The true beauty of being a Christian is that your debt has been pain. When I mention that, I mean, all your flaws, grave mistakes, and shameful decisions have been absorbed by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. With his whole heart, God gave his son that so he could bear the brunt our sins. What is outstanding is that by his selfless and loving sacrifice, He rose again so that he could not only pay the price for our sins  but he could daily live with us through life's joys and hurts. We have been absolved.

However, there is an enemy out there. A defeated foe who would have us to believe that we have to earn God's love and salvation. This enemy, Satan himself, wants us to feel that sin can separate us from God. I tell you that nothing you can ever do can separate you from God's love. All God needs is your willing heart. He loves you and your mess too.

He does not want this fictitious ideal of perfection. He wants you, the whole you and nothing but YOU. Bring him your: hurts, pain, scars, flaws, imperfections, dysfunctions, bad decisions, mistakes, shame, rejection, cruelty, and insanity. He is the only living entity that has the capacity to take all of those things dissolve them and love you anyway. He will also turn your shame into His fame and use your story for his glory. Don't let your imperfect life excuse you from allowing our perfect Jesus from living on the inside of you. The best in your life is yet to come regardless of where you have been, what you have done, or who you have become. In Christ, there is always hope.
