Living in the Shadows

"We look for light, but all is darkness; for brightness, but we walk in deep shadows. Like the blind we grope along the wall, feeling our way like men without eyes." Isaiah 59:9

Sometimes life can seem so overwhelming. There is so much to do and accomplish in order to be viewed as "successful" in our world. In the end some of the most successful people discover it is lonely at the top and still feel empty. Often, we don't take the time to stop, think, and savor what's really important. We live in the shadows, looking for our time to shine and find purpose. We look for it everywhere and in everything.  Without the peace of God, we will always come up short.

You may feel invisible, or that there is a big void on the inside of you that no amount of money, relationships, or professional success can fill. You may feel overlooked and not valued by your friends, colleagues, or family.  In Jesus Christ, your  heart has the opportunity to be transformed and your life can change for the better. You matter to God, period.  No matter what anyone else has to say God's opinion of you never changes.  The emptiness you feel will dissipate and you will no longer dwell in the shadows if you choose to give yourself over to him. If you don't know where to start, begin with your thoughts. Choose to think positive instead of negative. Read one scripture at a time to get His word into your system.. Through his love, God will uncover a light within you that has never been seen.

 All you have to do is turn your attention to him. Stop focusing on what you don't have and cast your attention on all you can attain in Him.  If no one else does, God loves you and desires for you to shine so brightly and fervently. Psalm 37:5-6 reads,"Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun."

We can be our own worst enemy. Don't let the brightness of your shine be deemed by fear and unbelief. Let go and walk into a new season of your life. There is so much more to your life than living in the shadows. The world is waiting for you.
