I could not count the number of times someone has looked at me and said, "I would go to church but I need to get myself together first," or "I'm not worthy to come to God. I need to get some things straight." Here's a news flash...none of us are worthy enough to be in the presence of God or to be loved by God. It is his grace, unmerited favor, that allows us to come to Him. He loves us despite who we are or what we have done.
All God wants is a willing heart to welcome Him in. His perfections is sufficient for our downfalls. In II Corinthians 12:10, Paul states,"That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
I spent a lot of wasted time thinking that if I behaved "perfectly" God would bless me. I thought my behavior was wrapped around how much God was proud of me. It's not true. God's love is greater than any mistake or failure. In fact it is our mistakes that allow for the maturation process in our lives to deepen. Your failures are the key to being used by God and growing in him. This does not give us permission to have a free for all. God measures the heart.
However, it does allow for us to ease up on ourselves and know that God's love and plan for our lives does not change no matter what. As Pastor Sergio has said, ' we don't pray, read the bible, and fast to get God's attention. We do these things to enhance our awareness of the attention we already get from God." Nothing we can do will make God love us more.

You are loved by the greatest lover of all, Jesus Christ. He died for you and made himself a sinner just for you. Things may seem lonely sometimes and you may feel unworthy but just join the club. I don't care what grand stage someone is on or how puffed up they look, we are all sinners and none of us have earned the love of Christ. It is given by grace.
